A Long Overdue Update: Football, Travel & Massage Training in Thailand

A Long Overdue Update

This blog post has been a long time in the making.

And if you have ever started writing something and never quite finished it, you will know how easy it is to leave it sitting there half done. The reality is that a blog post that never gets finished doesn’t exist for anyone to read. So here we are… finally getting this one written.

Quite a lot has happened since the last update.

Two Seasons with Redditch Borough FC

One big chapter that has come to an end since my last post is my time with Redditch Borough FC. I spent two seasons working with the club and I can honestly say I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

It was great to be involved with the teams and to support players through the usual mix of knocks, tight muscles and recovery work that comes with football.

The ladies team had an incredible season, ending the 24/25 winning both the Division 1 Cup and the WM Division 1 South League, which was fantastic to see. The men’s team unfortunately just missed out on promotion, but it was still a really strong season and a great group of players to work with.

Being involved in grassroots football was something that I never thought about pursuing but now having done it- I realise how lovely it is to be with a group of players for a good part of the year.

 A Winter Away

Another highlight since I last checked in has been getting away for a bit of travel.

I managed to spend some time in Thailand and the Philippines, which felt perfectly timed given the rather wet and grey winter we had back home. A change of scenery, a bit of sunshine, and some time away from the usual routine always helps recharge the batteries.

I shall share some snaps below.

Back to Thailand for More Learning

Fast forward to now and I am actually heading back to Thailand again for March.

This trip is a little different though as it will involve some further training. I will be taking courses in Advanced Thai Massage and Thai Foot Massage, which I am really looking forward to.

Continuing to learn and refine techniques is a big part of this profession. Even after years in practice there is always more to understand, more approaches to try, and more ways to help patients feel better.

A Quick Note for March

With that in mind, I will be away for the whole of March while I’m travelling and studying.

So if you do get in touch during that time and don’t hear back straight away, that will be why.

Normal service will resume once I’m back in the UK.

One final thing that probably explains the gap between blog posts.

Most of my time is spent in the clinic working with clients, which is exactly the part of the job that I love. But it does mean that sitting down at a computer to write blogs or updates sometimes slips further and further down the to-do list.

That said, I do enjoy sharing what has been happening, so hopefully this won’t be the last update for quite so long.

Until the next one!
